Must read: 11+ Digital Marketing “Crimes Against Humanity” by @avinash – “All smart, sharp and on the money”.  From his blog, I’d like to highlight some very useful things:

  • Not spending 15% of your Marketing budget, every month, on experimenting with new techniques / channels / ideas.
  • Not having a fast, functional, incredible mobile-friendly website.
  • Not having a vibrant, engaging, non-pimpy blog.
  • “Shouting” on Twitter / Facebook.
  • Your SEO strategy is buying links, expired domains, et. al.
  • Not following the “10/90 rule for magnificent web success.”
  • Doing anything on the web without a Web Analytics Measurement Model.
  • Not making even the simplest attempts to collect customer feedback.
  • Making website iterations based on executive opinions, but not site testing.
