Perhaps not news for some of you, my fellow marketers, however I was pleasantly surprised when noticed earlier today that I can verify a site with GWT by selecting the Google Analytics radio-button. No more painful file uploads or coding.
To use this method, you need to have admin privileges on the Google Analytics account, and the tracking code must use the asynchronous snippet.
Interesting: Google Webmaster Tools say that “No Google Analytics data will be accessed.” and “Verification doesn’t affect PageRank or affect your site’s performance in Google’s search results.” Thank you, Google, you do care.
