Goofing Around in a Project Management Emergency Room

While waiting to receive a signed copy of Making Things Happen (formerly the Art of Project Management) from Scott Berkun (he worked nine years for Microsoft’s biggest projects)…

… I noticed a very interesting chapter in the electronic version of the book (available on Google Books): Program and project management at Microsoft. In the late 1980s, Jabe Blumentha as a Program Manager helped MSFT to find the Golden Mean. In that scenario, a Program Manager acted as a much-needed bridge between developers and marketing folks. That is something that many web- and software development companies are not currently taking advantage of.
